Backyard on Blake

Backyard on Blake is a new commercial redevelopment in the River North community just north of downtown.  Situated on Blake Street between 30th and 31st streets, Backyard on Blake is comprised of office, studio and retail space all built around a park and courtyard in the centre of the block and open to Blake Street. The commercial and retail spaces anchor the development with all spaces opening directly to Blake Street or to the garden/courtyard “Backyard”. The look and feel of Backyard on Blake will echo the industrial, urban origins of RiNo, while embracing today’s locally based, connected, community centered work and live lifestyle.

Backyard on Blake is more than just a property developer website, it is the beginning of a lifestyle movement within an entrepreneurial environment. The property is a renovated former warehouse with associated use of outdoor areas and a new adjacent building. The website is coupled with social media networks in driving interest and enthusiasm for not just sales, but a community movement.

The customer requested some stock images to be used for promotional purposes. Two sets were done. One with this richer saturation and the other with slightly less rich saturation.


These photos were taken in the space then 'treated' to give both the feel then color pallet alignment for the website as well as cropped for the best possible site performance. The artwork is designed to instill a sense of though and provocation.

Fun comes in many forms. Backyard on Blake has such diversity of activities it's like a world on it's own. This video attempts to convey that message but has fun while doing so.

Backyard Imagined

The re-invention of an old warehouse in Denver's RiNO district results in a new and exciting innovation of space. Backyard on Blake is opening in fall of 2015.
